Apart from leading one of the largest social media companies, Mark Zuckerberg has a list of things to keep him engaged. Among them is mixed martial arts (MMA) and his recently reported project to “create some of the highest quality beef in the world”. While the world knows Zuckerberg as Facebook co-founder and Meta CEO, his daughter apparently did not have any idea about it.
In a recent interview on the Morning Brew Daily, Zuckerberg revealed that his daughter thought he was a cattle rancher.
“If you’re like a kid — so, like, my daughters — it’s kind of hard to wrap your head around like what Meta is, right? It’s this very abstract app, right? You’re like a young kid. So my daughter, for a while, just thought I was a cattle rancher,” he said.
“Mark’s Meat” gets daughter Zuckerberg’s approval
Zuckerberg’s daughter also approves of his business, which she thinks is called “Mark’s Meats”. “She’s like: ‘All right, like Dad, that’s clearly what you do. It’s like Mark’s Meats isn’t ready for prime time yet, but you’re really focused on it,'” he said.
Zuckerberg even jokes about running “Mark’s Meat” if he decides to step down from his position of running the company, however, he seems to be focused on his work in the tech industry.
The 39-year-old said in an Instagram post last month that his top-secret compound on the island of Ko’olau, in Hawaii, will be used for cattle-raising to create some of the best-quality beef in the world.
“Started raising cattle at Ko’olau Ranch on Kauai, and my goal is to create some of the highest quality beef in the world. The cattle are wagyu and angus, and they’ll grow up eating macadamia meal and drinking beer that we grow and produce here on the ranch,” he said.
“We want the whole process to be local and vertically integrated. Each cow eats 5,000-10,000 pounds of food each year, so that’s a lot of acres of macadamia trees. My daughters help plant the mac trees and take care of our different animals. We’re still early in the journey and it’s fun improving on it every season. Of all my projects, this is the most delicious,” Zuckerberg’s Instagram post read.
