Apple started its annual developer conference WWDC 2023. At the event the company showcased the new versions of its iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS at the event. Along with this Apple also announced some new features coming to Apple AirPods Pro 2 at the event. The Cupertino-based tech giant has showcased three new features: Adaptive Audio, Personalised Volume, and Conversation Awareness which will be coming to AirPods Pro 2 later this year.
Adaptive Audio
The feature is a new listening mode that dynamically blends Transparency mode and Active Noise Cancellation together based on the conditions of a user’s environment to deliver the best experience in the moment. This new listening mode will seamlessly tailor the noise cancellation experience while users move between environments and interactions that are constantly changing throughout the day.
Personalised Volume
The feature uses machine learning to understand environmental conditions and listening preferences over time to automatically fine-tune the media experience.
Conversation Awareness
With the introduction of Conversation Awareness, as soon as you begin speaking, the feature will automatically reduce the volume of the music playing and amplify the voices in front of you. It works by effectively reducing background noise, allowing for clearer and more prominent conversations.
Apart from these Apple will also be rolling out two other features called Automatic Switching and Mute or Unmute. With the implementation of Automatic Switching, the connection time between your Apple devices will be notably accelerated and more dependable. This enhancement ensures a smoother and more effortless transition when switching from one device to another while listening to audio, guaranteeing a seamless and uninterrupted experience. Using AirPods on calls is enhanced with a new Mute or Unmute feature across AirPods Pro (1st and 2nd generations), AirPods (3rd generation), and AirPods Max. Users can press the stem — or the Digital Crown on AirPods Max — to quickly mute or unmute themselves.
