What is SongShift and how will it help Apple Music users
For those unaware, SongShift is a third-party service that has been available for years. This platform allows users to easily move their music libraries and playlists between different music streaming services. For example, users can access the SongShift app to transfer their playlists from Apple Music to Spotify or vice versa.
The report claims that the iPhone maker is now testing Apple Music’s native integration with SongShift. According to Reddit users, a new prompt has started appearing on the Apple Music app for Android that asks users if they want to “add saved music and playlists you made in other music services to your Apple Music library.” The app is also offering another new option for this through Apple Music’s settings on Android. The report notes that Apple might be integrating SongShift into the Apple Music app for Android to make it easier for users to switch from Spotify and other services to Apple Music.
However, the report adds that Apple Music’s integration with SongShift is currently showing only for some people using the Apple Music for Android beta. The feature still appears to be in very early beta testing and is not yet fully functional. But, the report confirms that Apple is working with SongShift.
