Addressing a press conference, Champat Rai said the current idol of Ram Lalla will also find its place in the ‘Gabh Griha’ (sanctum sanctorum) of the new temple.
The consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple is scheduled to take place in Ayodhya on January 22 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
‘The idol to be around 150-200kgs’
General secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said that the Pran Prathishtha’ is expected to conclude by 1 pm on January 22.
“The religious rituals will begin from January 16 and will continue till January 21. On January 22, ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony will take place. The idol for which ‘Pran Pratishtha’ will be done is expected to be around 150-200kgs. On 18th January, the idol will be placed at its position in the ‘Garbh Griha’ of the temple,” Rai said.
“The ‘Pran Prathishtha’ is expected to conclude by 1pm. PM Modi and others present on the occasion will express their thoughts after the ceremony. As per tradition, gifts in 1,000 baskets have come from Nepal’s Janakpur and areas of Mithila. On January 20 and 21 darshan will remain closed to public,” he added.
Seven Adhivaasas in Pran Pratishtha ceremony
The term ‘Pran Pratishtha’ translates to ‘establishing the life force’ or bringing the ‘deity to life’.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony involves ‘seven Adhivaasas’, with a minimum of three currently being observed. A total of 121 Acharyas will be officiating the rituals, with Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid overseeing and coordinating the proceedings.
“There are Seven Adhivaasas in Pran Pratishtha ceremony and a minimum of three Adhivasas are in practice. There will be 121 Acharyas conducting the rituals. Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid will be overseeing, coordinating, anchoring and directing all the proceedings of the ritual and the principal Acharya will be Luckshmikant Dixit of Kashi,” Rai said.
Rai said that all acharyas of all schools of Bharatiya spiritualism, religion, a system of worship, tradition, Sants of more than 150 traditions, Mahamandaleshwars, Mandaleshwars, Shrimahants, Mahants, Nagas, as well as leading figures of more than 50 Adivasi, Girivasi, Tatavasi, Dwipavasi tribal traditions, will remain present to witness the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on the premises of the Temple of Nativity of Lord Ram.
Dignitaries to be present inside ‘Garbh Griha’ on January 22
PM Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Nritya Gopal ji Maharaj, UP governor Anandiben Patel and all temple trustees will remain present inside ‘Garbh Griha’ during the ceremony.
Rai stated that representatives from various schools of Indian spiritualism, diverse religious traditions, worship systems, and more than 150 sects of Sants, along with leaders from over 50 Adivasi, Girivasi, Tatavasi, Dwipavasi tribal traditions, will be in attendance to witness the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple.
The Ram Temple will be open for general public from January 23.
Pre-consecration rituals from January 16 to January 21
Religious ceremonies are set to commence from January 16 and will continue until January 21.
As per Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust the interim schedule fixed for pre-consecration rituals is as follows:
January 16: Atonement ceremony, Dashavidh bath on the banks of the Saryu River, Vishnu worship, and Godan.
January 17: Procession with the idol of Ramlala arriving in Ayodhya, with devotees carrying Saryu water in Mangal Kalash.
January 18: Formal rituals begin with Ganesh Ambika Puja, Varun Puja, Matrika Puja, Brahmin Varan, Vastu Puja, etc.
January 19: Agni Sthapana (fire installation), Navagraha Sthapana (nine planets installation), and Havan (sacred fire ceremony).
January 20: Gabh Griha cleansing with Saryu water, Vaastu Shanti (peace ceremony), and Annadhivas (food offering).
January 21: Deity of Ram Lalla undergoes a divine bath with 125 urns and the Shayadhivas ritual.
