NAGPUR: State minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Wednesday alleged Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange and his supporters had issued threats to his life.
Speaking during the debate on Marathareservation in the assembly, the NCP leader of the Ajit Pawar group said he had police inputs he would be “shot” for taking an “anti-Maratha” stand. “Activists set houses of two MLAs on fire during the Maratha reservation protests. The house of NCP MLA from Beed Prakash Solanke was vandalized and his car set on fire. Even the house of MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar was set on fire in Beed. The next number could be mine, but I am ready to die,” he said.
Jarange, meanwhile, said that Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis should not vest Bhujbal with more power as it will lead to misunderstanding among Marathas. Jarange accused Bhujbal of desiring communal unrest in the state.
