They said the rollout of Vande Bharat trains has been the fastest in railway history, as far as introduction of new trains is concerned. Data shows laying of new lines, doubling and gauge conversion during 2022-23 touched 5,243 km, more than three-fold that in 2013-14. Similarly, railway electrification was at the highest ever at 6,565 km — more than 10 times compared to 2013-24.
