PUNE: Activist and politician Kishor Aware (50), who spearheaded an anti-toll agitation in Somatne Phata, Maharashtra, in March, was shot and then repeatedly attacked with choppers by four assailants on Friday. Aware died in the attack. The assault took place in full public view.
Prima facie, political rivalry or a dispute over money may be the motive behind murder, cops said.
Aware was popular for getting roads and water issues addressed and undertaking welfare measures.
