Uttarakhand sets up 9-member committee to implement UCC | India News – Times of India

Dehradun: Three days after Uttarakhand passed the UCC Bill in the assembly, govt has set up a nine-member panel to devise regulations ensuring effective execution of Bill’s provisions.
Led by former chief secretary Shatrughan Singh, the committee aims to delineate the operational framework for the norms stipulated in the UCC Bill. This panel will outline strategies for the seamless integration of the UCC provisions into practice.
Singh will be joined by additional secretary of justice Sudhir Singh, DIG (Training) Baridnerjit Singh, Doon University VC Surekha Dungwal, and social worker Manu Gaur.Officials holding positions such as additional secretaries of personnel, panchayati raj, urban development, and finance departments will serve as ex-officio members of the committee.
