NEW DELHI: In a significant gesture of devotion, a massive 400 kg lock, the world’s largest, and 1,265 kg of laddu prasad have been brought to Ayodhya as offerings for the temple.
The lock was made two years ago by the late Satya Prakash Sharma and his wife, Rukmini Sharma, in Aligarh. Following Satya Prakash Sharma’s passing, his wish was for the lock to be gifted to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.Mahamandaleshwar Annapurna Bharti Puri, a resident of Norangabad, Aligarh, performed the rituals and transported the 400-kg lock to Ayodhya, attracting crowds chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram.’
Mahamandaleshwar Annapurna Bharti Puri had earlier told ANI about the story of the world’s largest lock and the extensive effort put into making it. “Satya Prakash Sharma died before completing the lock, but we managed to complete it by working day and night.”
The lock, symbolizing Aligarh’s renowned lock industry, aims to bring international recognition to the city. Bharti Puri stated, “The purpose of presenting the world’s largest lock at the feet of Lord Ram is to represent Aligarh on an international platform,” anticipating that visitors to Ayodhya would appreciate the craftsmanship, thereby boosting the lock manufacturing industry in Aligarh.
In a separate offering, 1,265 kg of laddu prasad was sent from Hyderabad, prepared by Sri Ram Catering Services. The owner, Nagabhushanam Reddy, expressed his gratitude, stating, “God has blessed my business and my family. I had pledged to prepare 1 kg of laddu for each day that I am alive.” Reddy emphasized that the laddus come with a food safety certificate, ensuring their freshness for a month, and that their preparation required the efforts of 25 individuals over three days.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to perform the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ rituals during the temple’s opening, with a team of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit overseeing the main rituals. The offerings symbolize the collective devotion and enthusiasm of people from different parts of India in the realization of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
